We are delighted to announce the 7th Vasco da Gama forum, taking place in the beautiful city of Edinburgh from the 28th-29th January 2022. The VdGM Forum is a unique conference that brings together young family doctors from across Europe to meet, to exchange ideas, and learn about other cultures and primary healthcare systems. VdGM Forums are unique because their scientific programme is delivered by and for young family doctors from all across our continent and beyond. On our website you will find information about our programme, speakers, abstract submission and registration, pre-forum exchange, travel advice and visiting Edinburgh

The theme for this year’s forum is ‘Perspectives on Primary Care’. The two-day event will include keynote speeches from Professor Amanda Howe (RCGP President and former WONCA World President) and Professor Roger Neighbour (author of the inner consultation). There will be a range of workshops and presentations, including Leadership in General PracticeRemote Consultation Skills with Roger Neighbour, and Writing for Publication with BJGP Deputy Editor Euan Lawson.

The forum is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring GP academics and GPs with an interest in global health to present in a friendly environment, and we would encourage attendees to submit abstracts for posters, presentations and workshops. In addition to the academic programme we also have a social programme including Ceilidh dancing and uniquely Scottish entertainment.

The Vasco da Gama Movement (VdGM) is the European Young Doctors’ Movement of the World Organisation of Family Doctors (WONCA).
